I am a dog owner, ugh! I have two dogs, yeah, double ugh!! I never wanted the dogs. I got talked into both of them. I am not a fan of animals AT.ALL. They smell, they are hairy and they create a lot of work BUT once you get them, oh, gosh, you fall in love. They become part of the family. Yes, they still frustrate me. I clean constantly. I am always worried that my house smells. I don’t want visitors to leave with dog hair on them. Although, my dogs are not allowed on the furniture.
Now, the other problem. We live in an area with no sidewalks. I know it sounds odd. The designer of the association thought sidewalks ruined the natural beauty of the area. Whatever. We are not allowed any fences in our little association too. Once again, the belief that fences ruin the natural beauty.
Okay, so they did create beautiful walkways and little community areas but on all the streets there are no sidewalks. The problem for dog owners are we walk our dogs. Yes, we go to the community areas but we have to walk on the walkways which homes line up along and we still have to walk along the streets too and of course the edge of yards come right to the street. Do you see where I am leading???
As much as I try to have my dogs poop in the community area, well, sometimes they are ready to go right there in a yard. It is not like a let them run free in the yards to poop?? But, as they are walking, they get the urge before the designated spot!! We always pick it up. We have our bags and if it is a little messy I rip the grass so the owner doesn’t step in anything or so it doesn’t leave a smell. But, lately, owners have been really nasty. They will yell at you about your dog in the yard. I do try to understand. It is their yard and they have every right to yell. I yank my dogs and apologize and then try really hard not to go near that house. I really hate confrontation. But, this is what I find funny. It is a flippin yard??? Really, is life so stressful that my dog pooping in their yard and ME PICKING IT UP still infuriates them that they must rip me, their neighbor???
Also, we live in what is labeled a ‘woodsy’ area. We have deer, coyote and red foxes all over the place. We are told to keep our little dogs in at night because the coyotes will eat them. Guess what, those animals shit anywhere and no one is picking it up!!!! So, I find it funny that I am getting ripped and yet I am being super considerate. Like I said, I try very hard not to let my dogs go in anyone’s yard. I typically take them to the community areas, where I still pick up the poop, I can’t tell you how many people don’t pick up the poop in those areas. Oh, well, unfortunately animals just poop when the mood strikes so when walking if it hits they go, yard or not!
If anyone has a suggestion on how to stop a dog from pooping I would certainly appreciate it, I really don’t like getting yelled at!!

and now I’m glad I didn’t get that dog
I told you they can be pains (LOL)
Im sorry, I probably shouldn’t be laughing at this post – but I am!
Unfortunately, I do not have any advice on how to prevent a dog from pooping!
Last night I made them walk in the middle of the street until we got to the community spots and then we had to dodge cars, it was sooo much fun!!!
