How often do you really listen to an older person or do you roll your eyes when they tell their stories?

Oh gosh, I LOVE listening to older people tell their stories. My husband and daughters do too! We learn so much about their era when we listen. And they can be quite funny too! There are some elderly folks we know that we could sit and listen to for HOURS.

I think, when older people tell their stories, what they are really telling us is to slow down and savor our moments…especially in the telling of their own details.

I miss my grandma simply because of that. To sit and just listen to her! Oh, and she was awesome enough that she actually expected and LOVED the eye rolls in the conversation as well. She took it like a champ and would just throw it right back at the eye roller and turn it into a big joke! She was the BEST!

I love older people. I wish I knew more of them to listen to stories and lessons learned!

since our recent move closer to family i find myself really valuing my time with my 91 yr old Mima. she is amazing with so much wisdom to share. i feel like i cannot spend enough time soaking up every little thing she has to say!!
