I kept saying “Make a wish!”
And he would throw the Penny in the water, each Penny he threw a little a harder and farther!
Oh, and he wanted more and more pennies!
He loved seeing where those pennies landed but he was over the “Make a Wish!” exclamation with every throw!! He just wanted to throw and throw!!
That’s ok I had plenty of wishes to make!
Although, later, I WISHED I had WISHED for the ‘gift of direction’. Lacking that wonderful gift, part of my joyous day was spent lost.
LOST IN THE TOWN I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN!!!! Not lost ONCE, or TWICE but THREE flipping times. And somehow, someway I landed, in what one would call an interesting area of the city. Not quite the South side of Chicago or the Gangs of LA but we do have some areas in our city that you don’t want to find yourself in, and somehow I was there before you knew it? Alone, lost, in my own town, all turned around, not exactly sure which way to go “Thinking,seriously, really, how in the world?” But, hey I found a Wendy’s and got us all food! I was looking for McDonald’s but Wendy’s worked! And, as you all are reading this, you know I lived to tell the tale!
I instinctively (that is making me giggle) found my way back to my mom, sister and my little great-nephew and we all played in the water!
Doesn’t that look awesome? The kids were out in full force!!! Our little guy was a tad bit overwhelmed by the shooting water and he needed our help. Our little guy isn’t going swimming with the sharks (the animals) anytime soon, he will just have stick with his own kind and some of those little darling kids are dangerous enough LOL
He was so much happier safely tucked in Grandma’s arms!
So, yeah, we are the bright ones, my sister decided on one of the hottest days of the summer to gather up her two year old and our 82 year old mother and head out into the sun! Go US!!!
At this point,Someone (cough, cough, little guy) was over photo taking! He just wanted to eat and get to the water fun!!We eventually made that wish come true, how little did he know, HE WAS WISHING!!!!

spending lots of time in the pool to fight the hot weather and great story no worries though i get lost in my own back yard
He’s such a cutie! Glad you found a way to stay cool while being outdoors. I’ve just been going outside in short bursts and then running back into the AC.
Oh my gosh – those fountains? My little guy would’ve loved them so! Looks like you had a great time with three generations of your family!

Hahahahahaha! I love your tales! You always tell them in such a humorous way! I’m not staying near as cool as I wish- the AC in my car DIED. And I’ve had to go places. IN THE HEAT. Hopefully I’m in for the day!

And, hello, I get lost in my own town ALL THE TIME and I’ve lived here for like my whole life, with the exception of the 4 years I lived in CA!
