We Celebrated

by lucy on July 5, 2012

We celebrated! We went to our local parade. Parades are slightly different from ‘my time’ but some things stay the same!

It began with the Flags!

All three High School bands were represented!!

You have to have the politicians, I mean Public Servants!!

Of course, the Old Firetruck, followed by the new flashy one and then the wonderful firemen!!

Floats were sparse!

These kids were having a blast!!

This little guy is starting to tucker out LOL

But look at these guys plopped on a truck bed……..

They are the swimmers, they like to be in the water, not basking in hot, beating, sun, like baseball players!

By the way, we had no baseball teams march???

BUT……

We had skateboard surfers!!

And…..

Yes, the little ones on decorated bikes, they are a MUST!!

Oh and every parade has these!!!!

And of course, the clubs and recruiting……

Join the Equestrian Club!

Or!

Biker Club, I think?

Of course don’t forget to put your little one in the……

No candy throwing,so sad,to dangerous,so they say but never fear advertising is still allowed!

And the ending, a reminder to WATCH the Fireworks!!!!

Yeah, we skipped the Fireworks!

The parade exhausted me!!

My parents came over for a barbeque.

Then, we watched a Marathon of Dallas!!!

My Dad, secretly LOVES J.R. Ewing!!

How did you celebrate your Fourth?

i have to say this year our town Fourth of July kind of was bad it was all about politics and getting votes instead of celebrating our freedom and having fun but i guess that was to be excepted as it’ election year.

Great photos, looked like a fun parade♄ Larry Hagman is so terrific as J.R., but I just want to take a pair of scissors to his eyebrows, lol!

Great parade! And how brave of you to go out in the heat- not me. I’m sporting a sinus headache today from being out there yesterday and this morning. Come on fall! LOL There was a neighborhood parade with the kids but I was too busy preparing for our cookout to watch…I really should have just gone on out there. I bet it was adorable. Glad y’all had a fun day!

We were recovering from a 3 day power outage. And it was midweek, so we went to the splash park with J. No family get togethers or anything.
