When You Don’t Know What To Do?

by lucy on September 6, 2012

When you don’t know What to do, what do you do?  Today, most people tend to google it? Or use a gadget to look for an answer. KIND OF SAD.  Really, it is.

Listen, technology is a wonderful thing UNTIL it is NOT.

It is becoming a crutch.  It is doing ALL the thinking.

We still need to learn and think for ourselves.

AND in the end…..

When you don’t know what to do?

You need to trust your gut.

You need to gather all the knowledge you have and then go for it BUT my overall concern is, are we gonna stop gathering because of our crutch?

Oh, I hope not and don’t think I am being an alarmist, think about how many people can’t count change back because we don’t use money anymore and if we do the register does the addition for them.  Kind of sad the skills we are losing!

How often do you trust your gut or do you double check the internet first? For example, you google it?

I try to trust my gut but sometimes I just can’t help myself. The husband goes to the internet for EVERYTHING. Have you seen that commercial—I don’t know what it’s advertising—but the woman is talking about how she knows something is true because it was on the internet and, if it’s on the internet, it’s true. And the guy is like, “Where did you hear that?” And she goes, “On the internet.” Yep, that’s my husband. LOL

I use it as a resource and basis for sure, but if my gut is involved, my gut always makes the final ruling.

I totally agree. Although I do my fair amount of online research, I believe in the end you should trust your gut. Google does not know more than your own instinct!!

We have a “no screens” rule at dinner. It is way more difficult with the iPad than anything else because we use it in conversation- like what’s the weather? Hold on I’ll check! Where is (insert location)? Just sec and I’ll let you know. You are right, we are dependent.

“You need to trust your gut.”
ABSOLUTELY.

I always ALWAYS listen to my gut, because it’s NEVER been wrong.

I usually google things to settle a friendly bet, but normally, I try to rack my brain first.
