What doesn’t come to mind is the question!
“Fine.”
as in response to, “how are you?” or “how are things?” and sometimes, it is the truth. everything is a-okay. But I suspect, because I have done this myself a time or two, that the correct and truthful response we don’t say is: “you do not want to know about, or deal with the depth of shit in my life right now.”
that’s when I want to cry “bullshit.”
