Saturday Funnies LI

Saturday!  Gotta Laugh.  I have great email buddies!! Once again, passing on what most people delete!!

This one is Political but I like it because you could switch for either side and it would be funny.  What I REALLY LIKE, is teachers REALLY DO THIS and I have witnessed it.  I have heard many teachers DEBATE WHY THEY FEEL it is APPROPRIATE to be open about their political stance.

I was a social studies teacher.  My undergrad degree was in Political Science with a Masters in Education.  My students NEVER knew my political stance.  They tried constantly to guess.  They even begged me if they guessed would I just tell them, some came after class claiming they wouldn’t tell, yeah right!  I have my reasons why and I won’t go into it but I believe strongly a teacher should not tell their students their political leanings and they should teach as neutral as possible knowing yourself you carry a bias, that can’t be helped.

Anyway, I enjoy this joke from the TEACHER perspective because I have seen many TEACHERS walk right into such a situation. It leads to  Frustration! The teacher has one agenda and the student has another and it usually ends badly :)

Enjoy.  I am sure many of you have seen this one. It is an oldie but a goodie!!

Oh, and just flip it, if you are for the other team *Wink*

Priceless: Little Johnny

A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Obama fans.

Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny…

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different… again.

Little Johnny said, “Because I’m not an Obama fan.”

The teacher asked, “Why aren’t you a fan of Obama?”

Johnny said, “Because I’m a Republican.”

The teacher asked him why he’s a Republican.

Little Johnny answered, “Well, my Mom’s a Republican and my Dad’s a Republican, so I’m a Republican.”

Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, “If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?”

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, “That would make me an Obama fan.”

Oh, Teachers, they just love the smart ass in the class and there is always at least one in every class!!

I hope you laughed and not got all heated up, it wasn’t meant to be a political ad, ugh, over all that stuff!

Enjoy your Saturday!! Got a good joke, pass it on!!

I totally agree with you. I never tell students my political views. As a matter of fact, I never shared them with the lovelies when they were growing up either. I wanted them to have their own views based on their own decisions and not just because mom feels this way or dad feels that way. Though I will say that all four of them lean in the same direction that I do. I might get a little smug satisfaction from that. LOL Have a great weekend!

I agree with you about not sharing one’s political affiliations in a professional setting. Some are wise to it and others are not.

And yes funny! :)
