The Baby!

See that cute little baby with her hair standing straight up, like a balloon is hovering above?  The Constant static look? Yeah, that cute little baby is 21 today.  That cute little baby is my baby.  Hard for me to swallow.  The lady holding her?  My mother.  She is having an even harder time swallowing it!

21! It happens fast!! You remember them little.  In their cribs,car seats and swings.

The toddler years! Look how blonde our little one was? One of our many visits to the Ohio State Fair, which she loved and still loves.  But, as we all ate ice cream at the Dairy display she would get french fries or nothing at all.  Many times people stared,wondering why we were NOT getting our little girl ice cream.  She hates ice cream. Something about the texture!

Look at that smile?  So, excited! So genuine!! First day of Kindergarten.  The girl has no fear!! Off she went!  Happily to school.  AND, that is how she embraced her next 13 years.  She attacked school and sports with fun and hard work.

And, best of all, she adores her brother who returns the love.  These two are incredibly close.  In the above photo, it is their wonderful growing teen years.  Actually, it is Lena’s confirmation and her brother was her sponsor, she was thrilled he was old enough to stand up for her.  Now, In two weeks she is flying off to Chicago to spend the weekend with him.  I am blessed to NOT have to worry.  He will take very good care of his sister.

Our Lena, we have been blessed.  She is tenacious and strong BUT loving, sincere and loyal.  Lena has a good head on her shoulders BUT has her “Aunt T’s Moments “and that is fine, we all know and love my older sister.

We,of course, think our baby is perfect, imagine that? Of course, when she is denying stuff to our face as we just watched her do it, well, maybe not so perfect or her lack of organization or the fact that she didn’t quite pick up my love for cleaning but well, she still rates a 10 in our book because you all know why!!  Oh, and yes, that smile and laugh is very contagious!!

We are two very proud parents and we wish our baby girl a very happy and safe 21st birthday!!  If you haven’t caught on, she loves basketball and one day we will be watching her coach!!!
